What do you get when you cross a Robert
Palmer music video with an18th century church and a neo-burlesque
acrobat?
Shebang is a new and unique event
management collaboration between three of London’s most exciting
and bespoke event suppliers; Gekko
Entertainments, Kai
Catering, and Shaken
or Stirred, which last night showcased its talent at the 21st
birthday celebrations of ORMS Architects at LSO ST. Luke’s
on Old Street, London.
The party had an 80’s theme to mark the company’s birth
21 years ago. 500 guests were greeted by Robert Palmer `Addicted
To Love’ - esqe hostesses complete with slicked back hair
and red lipstick. Pianist Peter Brown played classics from the decade
of shoulder pads whilst dressed in a white tuxedo and Neo-Burlesque
trapeze artist, Empress Stah, performing `the hoops’ in a
skimpy diamond encrusted outfit. This was the first aerial work
to ever take place in the venue.
Guests danced like robots and body-popped to an excellent DJ set
from one of the UK's most in-demand record producers and Heaven
17 star, Martyn Ware, who has put his name to hits by Terence Trent
D'Arby, Erasure, Marc Almond, Shabba Ranks and Alison Moyet.
Oliver Richards, Founder and Director of ORMS, said, “Thank
you for a super evening and for all your hard work.” John
McRae, Director of ORMS Architects, said; “Gekko were so energetic,
enthusiastic and very professional. What a party - it certainly
met our brief!”
